Timeline

1985

Disability Advice Service began with two volunteers giving advice and information over the telephone to elderly and disabled people in the Suffolk Coastal area.

1989

First part-time paid Manager appointed.

1990

First became a Registered Charity with our own Management Committee.

1991

First part-time Senior Advisor appointed.

1996

Moved from a cramped single room into Cedar House, Woodbridge.

2013

Became a Charitable Incorporated Organisation and moved from Woodbridge to our current premises at

14 The Square, Martlesham Heath.

2020

Established specialist Crisis Service and Listening Service.

2022

Expanded into additional office at 12 The Square, Martlesham Heath; doubled number of clients.

2023

Awarded Advice Quality Standards mark and Pride In Practice gold standard.
